Our environmental balance Acting with responsibility and foresight and ensuring that our systems, comprising carton packaging and filling machines, continue to be among the most environmentally friendly packaging solutions for long-life foods, is one of our paramount strategic business objectives. As part of our drive to conserve resources into the future, we will soon have completed the Chain of Custody certification in accordance with the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) for our sites worldwide. We are rising to these challenges, and will continue on a systematic basis to further optimise our overall environmental performance – in terms of our products and our actions. In the past few years, we have already achieved a great deal. We’re setting ourselves bold, measurable goals in order to reduce to a minimum the environmental footprint of our products and production processes. In a detailed brochure, SIG Combibloc will be giving a full account of its global strategy for environmental protection. This brochure will incorporate also environment-relevant performance figures from all the company’s production plants worldwide. This short version, available as a download, gives an initial overview of the full report. The detailed brochure will follow in the second half of the year 2010.
